Holiday cottage owners Mick & Julie's New Year's resolution was to walk the 60 mile long Ceredigion Coastal Path in sections during 2013. The idea is to be able to advise holiday cottage guests how best to enjoy coastal walking holidays from Stallion Valley holiday cottages and to make regular entries on The Stallion Valley holiday cottage blog.

On Thursday 22nd August 2013 we set off on a 4 mile dog friendly walk circular walk from Mwnt National Trust beach to Penpeles with our 2 dogs.

This was a varied walk starting from the National Trust pay and display car park. 

We enjoyed the views from the car park of Cardigan Island and photogenic Mwnt church with its back drop of Foel y Mwnt.

We headed North past the church and soon were enjoying wonderful coastal views of Cardigan Bay. Ahead we could see the rocky promontory of Penpeles and behind us Mwnt church alongside Foel y Mwnt.
    
Along the way we were able to look down from the steep cliffs to clear blue seas and spot seals sampling excellent West Wales seafood.
      
Just before the Penpeles we turned off the path inland following the footpath signpost inland up a wooded valley via several footbridges to a country lane.
     
On reaching the lane we turned right and almost immediately on our left spotted the National Trust monument of Llwynysgaw, remains of an old farm building and mill wheel.
    
We enjoyed easy walking down the lane to a T junction and turned right.  A hundred metres just past 2 bungalows we turned right down a lane with a cattle grid signposted to a property Craig.  This lane led us downhill past a couple of properties, through a gate, a caravan site, over a stream and through a garden back to our parked car.
  
We enjoyed ice creams from the café overlooking a crowded Mwnt beach before loading our dogs into the car having enjoyed a wonderful dog friendly walk.  On the drive home we reflected on how lucky we are to have holiday cottages and live in West Wales.
