We have dogs of our own Billy (the kid) and Hamish our wild Westie and they give us a valuable insight into what dogs want and owners need.
Our dogs like walks, dog friendly beaches, places to play, run, swim, places to do their "business" and to get muddy.
We like to let them do all of these, to keep them safe, have an enclosed garden and to be able to wash them down.
For us providing dog friendly cottages does not mean providing doggie welcome treats and other gimmicks. We want you and your dog to have a safe and stress free holiday and have designed Stallion Valley to provide just that.
Because Stallion Valley holiday cottages have been designed to be dog friendly we are able to welcome three or more dogs per cottage.
“ The dogs are going home for a well earned rest ”
“ Ideal for dogs especially the enclosed paddock at playtime ”

Because Stallion Valley has been designed to be properly dog friendly we are able to welcome three or more dogs per cottage.
Each of our cottages have
Our garden fences have been tried and tested by 100's of dogs on holiday.
Small dogs have failed to get under or through the fences and larger dogs have yet to jump the minimum 1,2 metre top wire.
Your dogs will not get out to pester your neighbours, other dogs, livestock or chase cars.
There is no barbed wire to injure your dog.
You can relax on holiday knowing your dog is safe and secure in your private, enclosed holiday cottage garden.
The Stallion Valley holiday cottage dog exercise & play paddock allows you to have fun playing or training with your dogs on site
The enclosed, mowed, play paddock & exercise area is approximate size 40 metres X 40 metres. It has been tried and tested to the same standard as our enclosed dog proof cottage gardens. Small dogs have failed to get under or through the fences and larger dogs have yet to jump the minimum 1,2 metre top wire. There is no barbed wire to injure your dog.
Also on site are woods & ponds for walks.
We are surrounded by fields and there is access to a footpath network on your doorstep.
Billy & Hamish's favourite woodland walk is less than 5 minutes' drive away. Here dogs can run free, through the woods following the scent of rabbits and squirrels away from the danger of roads.
They can also enjoy a cooling dip in the chattering stream.
Meanwhile you can enjoy a relaxed walk (or energetic run), the birdsong song and the dappled sunlight filtering through the oak trees.
We have maps and are happy to recommend dog friendly and off lead walks on beaches, beside rivers, in the mountains, through forests and along the coastal path.
We can also recommend dog friendly cafes and pubs along the way.
Hamish like many dogs likes good country walks and getting more than a little muddy. Here in West Wales he gets lots of opportunity as we are surrounded by fields with lots of good footpaths.
Unfortunately he hates a cold water hose pipe shower.
So we have invested in a warm water outdoor shower and wash down facility for all Stallion Valley residents, dogs or humans if you feel so inclined!
We also have some dog shampoo and towels, all part of the practical dog friendly service here at Stallion Valley holiday cottages.
We recognize there are times when taking your pet with you can be problematical so dogs may be left unattended by arrangement.
We want you to relax whilst you are out, knowing that that your dog and our cottages will be safe and secure.
We are happy to discuss and agree suitable arrangements for you and your dog/s.
We have dog crates you may borrow, if needed.
If required we may be able to provide a dog sitting service.
We also have an outside kennel (the dog house above) if this appropriate.
…as few as possible
How many dogs can we bring: 3 or more, by arrangement.
Noise: Yes we do ask that you & your dogs are not a nuisance and do not disturb others. But we do understand all dogs bark
Bedrooms: Yes we would prefer dogs are kept downstairs and out of bedrooms but if they are used to sleeping in your bedroom at home then, by arrangement, they can on holiday. Generally, in these cases we ask you to bring your own bedding
“ Best dog friendly holiday ever ”
Furniture: Yes we would prefer it if your dogs do not sit on our lounge chairs but if that is what they do at home then, they can on holiday provided you bring some throws to cover our sofas & chairs.
Off lead in public areas: No problem provided they are under your direct supervision and control. This ensures that they are not a nuisance to others (humans or animals) and that you notice and clean up after any fouling.
Prices quoted are inclusive of linen, fuel, wifi and other facilities on site. See out terms and conditions for further details.
“ 12 week old Danny safe and secure in our dog (and children) friendly enclosed garden.
Our visitors commented "We are really pleased that we got a dog. Without Danny we would never have, searched for a dog friendly holiday cottage and found this wonderful place!”
Danny is a cross bred springer spaniel and poodle, soft, friendly & playful. We were tempted to dognap him! ”
