The Elan Valley visitor centre. The  Elan Valley is a beautiful and unspoilt area made even more compelling by the dams and reservoirs.

The 6 dams, reservoirs and 73 mile aqueduct of the Elan Valley were built a hundred years ago to supply desperately needed clean water to Birmingham. It was an epic feat of civil engineering.

Today, the dams and reservoirs provide stunning views for visitors to enjoy as well the natural habitats, flora and fauna, which create a wonderful, living landscape. Elan is a haven for wildlife, one of the most important sites in Wales.

Visitor Centre: The Elan Valley Visitor Centre is operated by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water and is set in a fantastic location against a spectacular backdrop of a Victorian stone dam. It is the perfect starting point for your visit to the area. There's something for everyone.

Entrance to the Visitor Centre is free, and the £2 parking charge covers you for the whole of the Estate's car parks, all day.
