We offer a cosy, intimate and friendly village Pub run by myself,  George, and my lovely wife Louise Rashbrook (who makes all the home made Pub food).

You can enjoy the beautiful woodland walks which follow the Gorlech River; either the short  or long signposted walks, or the amazing mountain bike trails; then retreat into the comfort of The Black Lion and toast yourself by the fire in the Winter or relax in the Beer Garden by the River and enjoy the view.

We welcome dogs and the occasional horse. We just ask you to keep the dogs on a lead please.

You can choose from an extensive bar menu and specials board during the day, and there is also a dining menu in the evenings. We can cater for large parties and functions, but only if booked in advance.  

It is our aim to offer proper home made food, generous portions, nothing pretentious, just good honest hearty Pub food. We offer a variety of vegetarian options and can accomodate vegans if you let us know you are coming.
