Bella’s dog holiday adventure

 

Hello my name is Bella, a spaniel from Birmingham, I had a great holiday in June 2016 in Stallion Valley.

 

After a long Journey, it was great to be out in the enclosed garden exploring my new surroundings and watching the sheep over the fence, whilst Liz & Joe brought my things in from the car. 

 

After they had joined me and had a cup of tea on the patio overlooking the fields we set off to explore.

Stallion Valley is great, I enjoyed meeting Red the goat and Margh the sheep and watching the chickens.  Best of all I enjoyed the play paddock where Joe got some exercise throwing a ball for me to fetch.

 

The next day we went down to the local village of Llandysul, after a bit of food shopping (the sausages in Gary the butchers looked very tasty) we headed for the park.  They said it was beautiful and enjoyed their short walk alongside the Teifi River and I had a refreshing swim but did not quite manage to catch the ducks!

 

The River Teifi is the longest in Wales and later in the week we visited the spectacular Falls at Cenarth.  I decided it was best not to swim there! 

 

Another great day out was to Llangrannog a pretty little seaside village with nice beaches, dog friendly pubs and cafes and a big lump of rock which is called Bica’s Tooth.  Bica was a giant who lived in the Preseli Mountains.  It is said that one day he had such a bad tooth ache that he pulled his tooth out and in anger threw towards the sea and it landed on Llangrannog Beach.

 

There are lots of sea creatures in Cardigan Bay. The humans love the dolphins and apparently New Quay is the best place in Britain to see them.  But I loved the seal we saw, it looked a bit like a sea dog and was a fantastic swimmer, even better than me!

 

I was sad to leave to go home after a wonderful week and am really looking forward to a return visit!
