Caldey Island, off Tenby

A 20 minute boat trip takes to another world, Caldey is beautiful and fascinating Island.

It has been inhabited since the Stone Age and been a home to various orders of monks since Celtic times, today it is owned by a Cistercian Order

Caldey is a monastic island but also much more, there are beautiful beaches, wonderful walks, a lighthouse, village, post office, gift shop, perfumes, chocolate, shortbread and lovely café & tea gardens.

The monastery is an imposing building and there are a number of other churches and historic buildings.

Perhaps most memorable is the sense of peace and relaxation.

Dogs are allowed on the Island (free of charge) but must be kept on a lead.

A fleet of boats run every 20 minutes, tickets are available from the Caldey Island kiosk at the top of Tenby Harbour.
