Cwrt-y-Cadno, Dolaucothi, Carmarthenshire

Cwrt-y-Cadno (The Fox Court) village in Carmarthenshire is on a back road, off the A842 between Lampeter and Llanwrda. Once an important crossroads on the route of the drovers from Ceredigion to market Smithfield in England.  Cattle were shod to protect their hooves, and water and pasture available for the herd.

Cwrt-y-Cadno Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Chapel is featured in a new collection of photographs of 120 of Wales's chapels. Chapels by Tim Rushton.

At the end of the 18th century the home of Dr John Harries (m. 1839), an extraordinary man and considered a wizard, and could cure illnesses of all types, calming evil spirits and predict the future.

The River Cothi flows through the village from its source about five miles to the north.
