Long Wood Community Woodland- near Lampeter

120 hectares of woodland, stretching for over 4 miles north east from Lampeter, south A485 road to Tregaron  and north of Teifi Valley. Gradually the conifer plantations established after the First World War are being replaced with broadleaf native trees.

There are information signboards illustrating footpaths, tracks  through the ancient woodlands and the bridle path along its south edge.  Linking paths join the two enabling circular walks of varying lengths. Beautiful walks with excellent views and very dog friendly.  A great place for off lead dog walking and cycling.

Looking north there are views of Derry Ormond Tower across the A485 truck road. To the South views across the Teifi Valley to The Cambrian Mountains.  From the Southern Edge there are excellent views looking down over Lampeter and the university.

There are earthworks from 3 Iron Age forts Castell Goetre, the largest, Castell Allt-Goch and Castell Olwen.
