Holiday cottage owners Mick & Julie's New Year's resolution was to walk the 60 mile long Ceredigion Coastal path in sections during 2013. The idea is to be able to advise holiday cottage guests how best to enjoy coastal walking holidays from Stallion Valley holiday cottages and to make regular entries on The Stallion Valley holiday cottage blog.

On Sunday 24th March we decided to have a bracing morning walk along the beach to blow the cobwebs away after celebrating Julie's birthday the previous evening.

We chose probably the shortest (about a mile) and easiest section of the cerdigion Coastal Path from Cei Bach to New Quay. This section is best tackled at low tide when you can walk almost all of the way along the sandy beach. The beach and walk are dog friendly all the way.

We parked in the free car park in Llanina Woods. From the car park we crossed the road turned right and left through the church road entrance and then right through the gate onto a footpath through the woods along the stream to the beach.

At the end of the path, we climbed the steps. At the top with a low tide we could see sandy beach stretching all the way to New Quay.

We set off for New Quay and along the way we admired a small waterfall. At the end of the beach we reached the lifeboat station and New Quay's south beach. Rather than stopping for refreshments and enjoying New Quays facilities we decided to retrace our footsteps back to the car.

We enjoyed our walk, and the cold wind certainly blew away the cobwebs. The dogs had a great run on the dog friendly beach. It was good to go home for a warm in front of the fire with a healthy appetite for a late lunch.
