Spring chicks, day 21 at holiday cottage in Wales

21 days ago they hatched and we had 8 early spring chicks.

Then they were skinny ugly noisy and cute.

Isn't nature wonderful, see how they have grown. Now much of their down has been replaced by feathers and they must be about ten times bigger.

Having gone from ugly through the cute fluffy down stage now they are looking scruffy with half feather half down.

One thing that has not changed is that they are still very noisy, non-stop chirping.

Hopefully the none stop chirping is a sign that they are all female and that by the summer they will be laying free range eggs for our holiday cottage guests to enjoy as part of a proper breakfast in Wales.
