A day out In Pembrokeshire from our Holiday Cottage in Ceredigion
On Thursday (see below) we went to see a wood burning hot tub for our holiday cottages in Wales.
The hot tub was situated near Goodwig in Pembrokeshire and on our way back just outside Newport (Pembrokeshire) we took a detour to see the Pentre Ifan Megalithic site, dating back from at least 4000 B.C.
Pentre Ifan is probably the finest Welsh hilltop megalith. It is said to have been originally constructed as a Neolithic burial chamber, but over several thousand years, the earth covering has been removed.
It was a beautiful day and the views from the hill top site were stunning. Pentre Ifan itself was awe inspiring the cap stone is estimated to weigh 40 tons. What a place to be buried.
We enjoyed winter sunshine on our 25 mile drive back across wonderful welsh countryside to our holiday cottages in Stallion Valley near Llandysul.
