Wildlife and Bird Watching

 

Stallion Valley holiday cottages is surrounded by fields and set in private grounds, 3.5 acres of mature woodland and ponds.

Enjoy the local wildlife. Birds flock to our feeders, tits, finch's, jays, doves, magpies, woodpeckers, and nuthatches.

Red kites are regular visitors buzzards, roost in our trees, swallows and redstarts nest in the barns. Gold crests flit amongst the trees, blackbirds, thrushes and wagtails are regular visitors.

During 2012 we had redstarts, swallows tree creepers and tufted ducks nesting.

At night bats swoop and owls hoot. Squirrels raid the bird feeders and we have to protect our chickens from marauding foxes and a pole cat.

Cardigan Bay's Heritage Coast, dolphin and seal watching is a short drive away.

 

We are also on the doorstep of The Cambrian Mountains and Brechfa Forest.
