Great days out Great holidays

We enjoyed the sunshine on Wednesday and had a great day out visiting places detailed in our Local Area – explore West Wales website.

We headed for Brechfa Forest fantastic dog friendly walks and world class mountain bike trails.

The road from Abergolech and on to Brechfa takes you through the heart of the forest alongside the scenic River Cothi.

We cut across to the River Towy past Dryslwyn Castle and headed for Paxton’s Tower at folly perched up above the meandering Towy River with magnificent over the river and the broad valley.

Both Dryslwyn and Dinefwr castle can be seen across the valley from the tower’s lofty perch and The National Botanic Garden of Wales in the opposite direction. The garden was built on the site of Middleton Hall which was the home of William Paxton who built the tower.
