Mountains, kites and lakes: Day out

Monday was desk day and 13 more entries on Explore West Wales,  Stallion Valley website.

So Tuesday we earned a play day.  It was a wonderful crisp sunny day and had a great day out and about in the Cambrian Mountains, mid Wales.

We are so lucky to have such a range of scenery and wildlife close to our home and holiday cottages.

Our destination was Rhyader via the Ystwyth Valley to the second of our local Red Kite feeding stations (Gilgrin Farm) and back via the Elan Valley reservoirs.

About an 80 miles round trip, but they were spectacularly beautiful miles, with almost no traffic and plenty of dog friendly walks along the route.  Planning to add it all to Explore West Wales next Monday.
