Back home to sea food from Wales
I got back from a week’s scuba diving in the Red Sea on Saturday. That is why the blog has been quiet. It was wonderful, like diving in an aquarium 27C and clear water.
By Sunday I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms and arranged to go diving. The club RIB launched from Cardigan, picked me up at Aberporth and set off north past Tresaith, Penbryn and Llangrannog beaches to Ynys Lochtyn a rocky peninsular jutting out in to Cardigan Bay.
Well at 15C and only a couple of metres of visibility it was not quite The Red Sea but it was teeming with life, spider crabs, brown crabs and lobsters. My dive partner Tim (the chef at the Hungry Trout in New Quay) caught a nice lobster.
I managed to catch some crabs so it’s crab salad for tea for Julie (her favourite).
West Wales has world class sea food but do not worry, holiday cottage guests do not have to catch their own.
The Hive in Aberaeron is a super fish mongers.
Alternatively try The Hungry Trout in New Quay if you prefer yours expertly cooked.
The Mill holiday cottage is a luxury barn conversion.
The Byre holiday cottage is a single storey barn conversion.
Stallion Valley has been designed to be properly dog friendly, and has a wide range of dog friendly facilties.
Our holiday cottages in West Wales are an ideal base for exploring The Teifi Valley, Cardigan Bay and Pembrokeshire.
