Red Kites nesting at holiday cottages

Spring has been a hive of bird activity here at Stallion valley holiday cottages in West Wales. It is a treat for bird watchers.

The morning dog walk is serenaded by with bird song. Blackbirds are tugging worms from the lawn and the red kites fly up from their nest high up in the beech trees as you walk past.

In the barn when fetching food for the chickens nesting swallows zoom overhead.

Crows are noisily chasing buzzards high over the surrounding fields

Down by the ponds, the goslings are growing and there is a brood of Mallard ducklings. They are a still a bit shy so I have not managed a photo of them yet.

Last week’s holiday cottage guest spotted a woodpecker nest but I have not seen it yet!
