Improving the dog friendly status for our holiday cottages in West Wales

Dog friendly means different things to different people with different dogs.  We encourage feedback from our visitors and learn from experience and their comments.

Enclosed gardens we understand are important and have built in deterrents to going over under and through fences!

We have learnt that 1.2 metre fencing is high enough to deter all our of larger dog visitors (so far) from getting over them. 

Often smaller dogs are skilled escape artists so we have used stones and logs to avoid escapes under fences.

We have also added mesh to gates to avoid canine escape artists getting through them.

Recently we have also improved the fencing in our enclosed exercise paddock and Hamish, see photo, has tested it.

He also regularly tests our hose and dog bath/wash facilities!  He is not sure that they are dog friendly but we Do!

The Byre and Mill holiday cottage also have garden lights to enable you to keep an eye on your dogs when they are taking their bedtime exercise.
