Holiday cottage Wales: bird watching - wren

Our resident birds all seem in good voice and have turned up the volume to welcome spring. The woodpeckers, buzzards and red kites in particular have been making themselves heard against the regular birdsong sound track.

Greater spotted woodpeckers are regulars at our bird feeders, but recently holiday cottage guests in The Byre reporting seeing a green woodpecker.

Summer avian (plus a number human) visitors all seemed to have returned to our holiday cottages. Star performers at the moment are the swallows, we seen to have more this year. They swoop around the farmyard and low over the ponds. One pair are nesting in our barn/workshop and another in the games room/play barn.

Also nesting, the previously mentioned redstarts, in the barbeque and pied flycatchers, in the woods. I am trying to catch them on my camera.
