Holiday cottage owners enjoy bird watching on the Wales coastal path

Earlier this week we went walking along the Ceredigion Coastal Path and had a superb sunny day.

We decided against taking our dogs although the path is dog friendly which meant we had the added bonus of bird watching.

Near the coast as you would expect we saw lots of gulls, oyster catchers and cormorants.

We also saw a number of choughs the scarcest of Britain crows only seen on the cliff coasts of Wales.  We felt like real bird watchers!

Also out enjoying the sunshine were buzzards & red kites soaring on the thermals.

We took this photo of another bird we had never seen before  and when we got home identified it as a Wheatear.  As I am sure all of you bird watchers will know the wheatear is one of Wales’ earliest returning spring migrants.

The wheartears, like our holiday cottage guests, enjoy spring sunshine in Wales.
