Local Activities

Cardigan Bay's Heritage Coast with Aberaeron and New Quay, sandy beaches, dolphin and seal watching is a short drive away. There are plenty of watersports, canoeing and fishing.

Cei Bach beach Ceredigion is less that 30 mins away and welcomes dogs

The village pub and restaurant The Gwarcefel Arms is a 5 minute walk away. Canoe on our ponds or walk the footpaths through our grounds.

Ceredigion, Carmarthen & Pembrokeshire have castles, N.T. properties, gardens, forests, mountains, museums, wildlife, dolphins, seals, red kites, farm and theme parks, steam railways, art, craft and food shops.

Day trips from Ceredigion to Pembrokeshire, Saunderfoot, St Davids, Tenby or Aberystwyth.

For the active Ceredigion offers walking, cycling, surfing, golf, quad bikes, shooting, paintball, white water canoeing and fishing.

If you enjoy your food, the local produce, meat, cheese, seafood and wine is excellent. There are lots of good local restaurants inluding The Gwarcefel Arms, at the the end of our drive!

Beaches

Stallion Valley is centrally situated for a wide range of beaches. To the north less than 30 minutes drive away is New Quay, Aberaeron and the Cardigan Bay Heritage Coast. To the west is Aberporth & Cardigan (40 minutes) and the North Pembrokeshire coast. To the South is Carmarthen (30 minutes) gateway to Carmarthen Bay and the South Pembrokeshire coast, Pendine Sands, Tenby & Saundersfoot

Beautiful woodland walks in the Teifi Valley, Ceredigion

Walking

Stallion Valley has a public footpath running through it which leads onto a network of circular walks in the Teifi Valley. The bluebell woods are beautiful. We have walk guides and suggestions.

Llandysul (our local area) has been awarded Walkers Welcome status.

There are spectacular coastal walks along the Ceredigion Coastal Path affording glimpses of dolphins, seals, porpoise and marine birds; through the lush green river valleys of the Teifi, Aeron, Ystwyth and Rheidol; to the heathered uplands and forests of the Cambrian Mountains where red kites and buzzards soar majestically above.

Stallion valley is well placed to visit a wide range of tourist railways.

The most local is The Teifi Valley Railway at Henllan, Carmarthenshire.

Vale of Rheiddol from Aberystwyth to Devils Bribge iis a highly recommended day out. Combine a trip a mini bus tour of the beauty and history of the Cambrian Mountains.

The Aberystwyth Cliff railway is easy way of gaining access to breathtaking views of coast and county.

The Gwili Steam Railway near Carmarhen is standard gauge railway through the beautiful Gwili Valley.
